ROCKPORT — A few residents spoke out recently against a proposed ordinance aimed at incentivizing affordable housing in the town, arguing its handling of short-term rentals was negative.

The Planning Board has recommended ordinance amendments that would bring the town into compliance with the state’s new law aimed at increasing affordable housing. The Select Board will decide whether to send the proposal on to the voters in June.
